Design Build for 4 th Floor and 3 rd Floor Training Room & Break Room. Martec Construction took over this project when the awarded contractor failed to perform according to contract. We brought in a design team, had several meetings to understand the client’s needs and brought in our team to perform the work. Being the type of agency, security was the number one part of this job and everything else was secondary. We redid the drawings, change all the frames and hardware to meet their security requirements. We also did a design for the access control and security system. The space consisted of managers offices, conference rooms, breakrooms and system furniture for the employees. GSA wanted to make upgrades to the floor and install a new building standard for the future upgrades to the building. This included mechanical, controls for the HVAC system, ceilings, doors, frames and hardware. During construction they also gave us a change order to upgrade the restrooms on the 4 th floor.

DHS CIS DACA

DACA was a fast track project. As we started there was a concern of mold and GSA asked us to have it remediated. We were able to isolate these areas and still perform construction in a safe manner with 3rd party air monitoring. Project consisted of new offices, conference rooms, seismic upgrade to the existing fire sprinkler system, new fire alarm system and new IDF closet for all voice, data and security which tied into the main computer room on the second floor. A new feeder was ran from the main electrical room in the basement to create a new electrical room which consisted of a new switch board, transformer and 10 panelboards to feed the new IDF closet, 40 offices and 306 work stations. A whole new VAV system was installed with controls and graphics to tie into existing BAS system. A new 160 LF corridor was included to connect this area to the east entrance for employees.
